Product description
These wool cushion covers are hand woven from local wool on traditional pit looms in Bhuj, Gujarat, an area famed for its weaving. The wool has a distinctive "dry" texture, typical of wool from this area, and because it is hand spun, and dyed with natural dye, the wool has a wonderfully irregular colour, full of movement. Once woven, our cushions are sent to our home-based embroiderers in Gujarat, to embellish with lines of traditional Soi work using English crewel wool in jewel-like colours.
