After Navajo via Bauhaus

Details :
Handmade, Custom made
Collection :
Flatweaves minimalist

Product description

Looking West to the art of the Navajo people of the Four Corners region of the US, via the geometric and abstract patterns, studies and learnings of the Bauhaus movement, in particular those of Josef Albers, this kelim resonates multiculturalism. The details of the design are all Persian, vivid with the tribal iconography of the Ghashgha’i nomads. But the overall composition celebrates both modern Western art and the creativity of the Navajo tribal people. This kelim is woven using the finest highland wool from the Zagros Mountains, hand-carded, hand-spun and dyed using natural vegetable dyes.
