Product description

Design era: 1970-1979 ("Fat Lava" era). The term "Fat Lava" was originally used for ceramics from the 60s and 70s which were provided with a lava-like effect glaze. These glazes were also called "crater glazes", because the bubble formation of this foam glaze leads to large pores and craters during cooling. This glaze technique, which has quite brutalistic features, was used specifically to adapt to the new, striking interior trends and enjoyed extreme popularity. Later, the term "Fat Lava" was used for the entire design era from the late 1950s to the late 1970s.
