EU Trade Support Project in Bhutan

BHUTAN TEXTILES

Sharing views, values and textiles...

This unique collection of handwoven textiles was curated by Nadia Dafri (founder of the eponym brand) and Valérie Billot, (founder and creative director of Muskhane), two designers with a passion for world textiles and culture preservation. While the two designers provided a new interpretation of Bhutan textiles, the Bhutanese producers shared their inner values, their unique vision of a more sustainable world, which is expressed in all their actions, and textiles… The collection was developed within the framework of the EU- Bhutan Trade Support Project with the technical assistance of the International Trade Centre (ITC) in partnership with the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Agency for Promotion of Indigenous Crafts (APIC). Sotevy Ly, Akiko Ishikawa, and Aileen Brindle are bringing their expertise and knowledge of international markets to make this collection shine at an international level, promoting these wonderful textile pieces and intriguing stories from the land of Happiness, Bhutan.
