School Canteen Acoustic Treatment
The cafeteria and canteen of Erich-Klausener Secondary School was treated with Suspended Baffles PET and ViCloud VMT Flat to optimize room acoustics and reduce reverberation.
Canteen reverberation The Erich-Klausener-Realschule in Herten is a private episcopal all-day secondary school of the diocese of Münster, in Germany. With its own big band and self-produced musicals, one of the main focuses of the school is on musical upbringing, education and support. The all-day school has its own cafeteria with a canteen for students, teachers and staff. Although the canteen was already equipped with acoustic elements, the wall components already installed did not have any significant effect in terms of reverberation, reflection and sound in the large area. Especially at lunchtime, when there were up to 350 visitors, a conversation between the clatter of plates and cups was mostly incomprehensible and difficult. Ceiling treatment The "sound masters" from Schallmeister were commissioned to treat the reverberation of the room and worked out a concept to optimize the room acoustics using acoustic treatment elements. For this purpose, the team requested a project for treatment and installed material from Vicoustic: - 144 Suspended Baffle PET in white - 20 ViCloud VMT Flat in light gray The installation was completed on time for the start of school during the holiday season. The built-in elements fit perfectly into the room and create a harmonious overall picture with the existing furnishings. The result can be heard. With the effective use of Vicoustic eco-friendly and sustainable products, pleasant room acoustics were created that invite you to linger and relax during your stay in the cafeteria. “We are thrilled that with minimal effort we were able to raise our canteen acoustically to a much better level. Schallmeister did a first-class job, gave us good advice and worked cleanly and quickly. The difference in the before/after comparison is remarkable and immediately noticeable! And the acoustic elements look pretty damn good visually!" Erich-Klausener-Realschule, Herten
