MARIANNE BATLLE

Portraits embroidered with glass beads, in miniature from photos and on demand.

I discovered art embroidery in 1995, while taking part in workshops at François Lesage atelier. She has since devoted herself to the craft, having begun working professionally as an embroiderer in 1998. Seeking a path away from the catwalk and traditional approaches to embellishment, she experimented with different techniques, and in 2000 she created embroidered flowers that evolved into pieces of jewelry. This led to participation in Premiere Classe Tuileries, the fashion accessory trade show at Paris Fashion Week. Now I create portraits in the form of beaded brooches.
