KIDA YOKO

For nearly 20 years, Ms. KIDA has been creating art pieces using the technique of "kogin embroidery". Through her works, she would like to transmit to future generations the aesthetic sense that is rooted in the life of these women of Tsugaru.

For nearly 20 years, Ms. KIDA has been creating art pieces using the kogin-zashi (or "kogin embroidery") technique. Through her works, whose main motifs are Mount Iwaki - which can be considered the symbol of Tsugaru, her native region - as well as Yatagarasu, worshiped as a guide god in the form of a crow in mythology Japanese, she would like to pass on to future generations the aesthetic sense that is rooted in the lives of these women of Tsugaru.
