ANAORI kakugama is a groundbreaking cooking tool standing at the crossroads of carbon graphite technology and the wisdom of Japanese cuisine. In a return to basics, the essence of each ingredient is enhanced and the boundaries of cuisine reimagined.
Rooted in the ancient Japanese philosophy of living in harmony with nature, ANAORI utilizes decades of expertise in carbon graphite technology to develop a homeware collection that is a new definition of timeless minimalism. Carbon graphite has excellent heat, thermal shock, acid, and wear resistance, as well as superior thermal and electrical conductivity and 5 times the far infrared emissivity of iron. Our flagship product, ANAORI kakugama brings the exceptional properties of carbon graphite into our everyday lives, challenging what we know about cooking methods, heat transfer, and cuisine.
On May 31, 2021 ANAORI hosted a launch event in Metafore in Paris. Chef Laurent Petit of The Clos des Sens, chef Alexandre Couillon of La Marine, Chef Victor Mercier of Fief and chef Stéphane Laruelle of Metafore all created original recipes with the kakugama for the event. The Naturality Tour by ANAORI will return to France at the end of the summer with Maison&Objet as the final destination.
On April 8, 2021 ANAORI kakugama was unveiled to the world in a press event at Social Kitchen Toranomon in Tokyo. A presentation of kakugama was followed by demonstrations from chef Koyama of Aoyagi, chef Okuda of Ginza Kojyu and chef Yakushijin of unis. The chefs expertly showcased the unique properties of the kakugama by illustrating how this cooking tool enhances the essence of each ingredient.
