Kenana Knitters is a women empowerment organisation in rural Kenya. We aim to provide women with dignified work and empower them through sustainable income opportunities. Our ladies, handknit beautiful organic cotton and locally sourced homespun wool to create unique children's soft toys, hand-dyed using natural and non-toxic dyes. We offer employment to over 300 women in our area. Through the income generated by our sales, we are also able to offer other programmes free of charge to our ladies, such as health and well-being clinics, adult literacy courses and HIV/AIDS counselling.
