Ruben van der Scheer is fascinated by the power and endlessness of the circle. Characteristic of his work are the curves and hollows, the disappearance of the form 'in nothing', the interaction between inside and outside, and the play with the visual and physical attraction of lines. Although the circular movement is a recurring element in all his work, the objects show great diversity. His oeuvre includes both wall objects and standing sculptures, and the individual artworks vary in size and finish.
