The Caractère desk is a meeting of two noble materials: solid walnut wood, from the forests surrounding Ho Chi Minh, and lacquer, an art practiced in Asia for thousands of years. From the resin extracted from the sap of the lacquer tree to the lacquer of the Caractère desk, the steps are numerous and carried out according to the rules of the art. The successive layers of lacquer are sanded and polished by hand to obtain a matt or glossy finish, depending on the craftsman's choice.
