SELAM CARPET & HOME

Selam Carpet is an Istanbul based brand. The brick-and-mortar store, located in the heart of the city also serves as a design hub where we meet with interdiciplinary designers in order to create collections which involves weavings and natural fibers.

We say ‘Selam’ in Turkey when we want to say ‘hello’; it means ‘peace’; an ancient phrase, which has roots in several cultures. For us ‘Selam’ means bringing two diffent worlds together and to give them the opportunity to say ‘Selam’ to eachother. Every single piece that is woven under the ‘Selam’ brand, aims to bring modern urban living and ethical & sustainable weaving together. Our main focus is designing and weaving handknotted and handwoven carpets however we also make home accesories with textiles such as table runners, decorative wall hangings, and pillows.
