CLÉMENTINE D'ASPREMONT-MENAYAS

Clémentine d'Aspremont-Menayas, editor/designer, artist and licensed architect in New York, France and Belgium, launches AVAO, her first collection of furniture in bent plywood and leather, composed of a chair, a lounge and a coffee nested table.

It presents warm, sophisticated and sensual curves. The materials and colors used are timeless: beech, oak and walnut, gray and off-white leather, brass. Made in Western Europe by local workshops, its design and manufacturing reflect Clémentine’s environmental commitment. Evoking classics such as Mies van der Rohe's S 533 L cantilever chair, AVAO is a study in contrasts: between the natural warmth of walnut and the deliberate simplicity of off-white leather, between the modernist cantilever design and more contemporary curved silhouette and between substantiality and airiness.
