Silpat®

The story of Silpat® begins in 1965 with Guy Demarle, a renowned French baker, who dreamed of developing a better way to prepare and bake his baguettes. He then invented a revolutionary baking mat that transformed the world of professional baking and pastry. Guy Demarle named this mat Silpat®, after the two key components of his products: a specially formulated silicone and a unique fiberglass mesh. His non-stick silicone baking mat became the first model of all Silpat® products and is still used in professional kitchens today.
