Mareike Lienau designs unique textile objects and bespoke collectible objects with her label, Lyk Carpet. Today, her focus lies on conceptualizing ideas for gallerists, architects and interior designers clients for specific locations, spaces and projects. She uses unexpected and unusual materials and techniques, combining them in unseen ways to bring craft to center stage. Lienau’s work fuses an avant-garde design approach with traditional craftsmanship. The question ‘What is contemporary about craft?’ is fundamental to her design. Her vision, passion and values guide her design process.
