SABMULLER CERAMICS

Ceramist sensitive to Japanese arts, I create unique pieces in stoneware. Sculptures inspired by prints by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, my ceramic sculptures represent cats in kimono.
Inspired by Utagawa kuniyoshi's work (1797-1861) my collection of sculptures represent cats wearing kimonos sometimes strolling head in the clouds, sometimes dancing with fans, sometimes playing the shamisen. In it I explore a combination of japaneese slips 'gosu' associated with 'shino' glaze. its unpredictable character and its transparency enhance my decorations.
