Emily - Organic Handmade Steel Shade Pendant Luminaires

Emily is a series of lampshades that can be suspended in relation to one another, creating a floating landscape of light. Depending on height and colour composition, Emily can shift character and read differently within the room. Each shade is cut, bent, formed, welded and sanded by hand. A complex physical process that gives Emily its natural, organic geometry. The series was inspired by the "James Bond Islands" series by Andreas Gursky, where digitally arranged landforms appear to float above a flat horizon line.
