All our fabrics are made from antique, hand-woven hemp grain sacks sourced from Europe. These textiles range from 80 to over 100 years old, with some dating as far back as the 1900s. Originally crafted for storing grain on European farms, each sack was handwoven from hemp and often marked with distinctive stripe patterns or hand-stitched monograms to indicate the farm it belonged to. These markings helped farmers identify their sacks at market and ensured the empty ones were returned to their rightful owners.
