SOSAL ARTCENTER re-introduced the art of Date-palm basketry, redesigning them into functional contemporary products. Soal maintains a 3000 year old handicraft tradition by marketing contemporary products, conduct younger generation training and provide sustainable income for many women to support children education in the Oases. Bio products are used from the Saharan date palm for production of baskets, rugs, boxes; made from the palm tree fronds. Combinations with beads, textiles, copper, wire, crochet and recycled glass make them unique. Handmade by artisans in Egypt.
