Vues d’Orient, taken from Gien Faïencerie archives. 19th century Orientalism took off largely through the romantic aesthetic movement of the day, that glorified and fantasized the Far East. The Vues d’Orient service, created in 1876, falls within the context of this trend of the times. This year, once again, styles can be combined to produce inviting and warm table atmospheres. Gien’s new variants on the Vues d’Orient theme are a pleasing addition to the range and a delight to enjoy.
