Equus sculpture

The beginnings of the depiction of horses in art history pre-date not just art, but the written language as well. Since prehistoric times, these magnificent creatures have captured our attention as a symbol of wild will and freedom. An exploration in the understanding of sequence, rhythm, and layers, 'equus' was developed by simplifying the equestrian form, through the simple process of contouring. The final layered form, made from water-proof medium-density fiber, captures the grace and fluidity of the horse.
