Longjiang is a perfect example of the “Old Marseilles” decorations found on earthenware services manufactured in southern France in the 18th century. The Chinese-inspired sets are then fashionable and reflect the fascination of Europeans for the East and its influence on the Decorative Arts. A great lover of antiques, André Raynaud acquired in 1974 a tile plate whose drawings he admired and decided to transpose them on his delicate, fine and transparent porcelain, allowing a perfect and vibrant rendering of drawings and colors.
