The Fissura lamp is inspired by a play of presence and absence of light. A line, both narrow and shallow, tears the elliptical volume that divides. Two ellipses contrast in light and shadow, translucent and opaque, in a linear motion of antithesis and synthesis. Shadow is represented by wood as an element of darkness, stillness, which reveals light as opposed to darkness; Light, on the other hand, seems to transgress the dimensions of a traditional lampshade.
