The Serpentina collection emerged from a design made by Ruy Ohtake for St. James in 2017, initially created to be a one-off piece. With complex dimensions and construction, the Serpentina cachepot brought together fragments of several architectural works by Ruy Ohtake and was presented exclusively at the BOOMSPDESIGN exhibition in 2017. After the architect's death in November 2021, St. James, along with his son, Rodrigo Ohtake, decided to pay tribute to Ruy, with the launch of 2 unpublished pieces from the Serpentina Collection: a vase and a centerpiece, in a limited and numbered edition of 25
