The MAMERTA abaca tote bag is made from the finest Aklan abaca fiber – extracted and braided by hand by artisans from Panay island in the Philippines. Abaca is a native plant endemic to the Philippines and known for its strength and durability. The hand beaded corded rope details resemble bleached corals and are all hand stitched by our small solar-run studio in Iloilo City. It is fully lined. The exquisite faux corals add an elegant touch – taking the raw fibers of the humble Abaca to a whole new level. This bag is perfect for an outdoor stroll by the beach or a fancy evening on vacation.
