Hironde

« Hironde » is the meeting of two joineries, two traditions (European and Japanese) : the dovetail and the bird’s beak. The dovetail, whose name comes from the swallow (« l’hirondelle »), is found, from a formal point of view, in the very design of the chair. As for the bird’s beak (« Ken-isuka-tsugi »), it is found on the bottom of the chair. It draws a light wooden leg, and gives an impression of suspension, of flight.
