Product description
A rattan bench made in a workshop in Yogyakarta, in the heart of the island of Java. Rattan is a wild, spiny vine that can be over two hundred meters long. In the region, it is particularly resistant and dense. Brought back to the village, the rattan is sorted, washed, dried and then sanded to become smooth. It is curved with steam and arranged meticulously on a wooden structure to obtain the desired pattern which will then be varnished. A linear pattern. A nod to the seventies, to a layout technique that craftsmen are revisiting today. More Console table
