LAYER lamps (Design by Döppel studio) reinterpret the traditional Japanese kumiko technique, a meticulous art of assembling wood. Each lamp has a frame and a grid that create geometric patterns to diffuse soft light. Founded in 1982, Edo Kumiko Tatematsu is a workshop specialized in Kumiko's work, located in Tokyo. Today, the workshop creates custom-made Kumiko for interior decoration. Founded by Jonathan Omar & Lionel Dinis Salazar, Döppel is a design studio born from the desire to explore the boundaries between disciplines.
