The Nimba statue is an emblematic figure in the art and culture of the Baga, a people of Guinea, in West Africa. Nimba sculptures are traditionally used in agricultural and ritual ceremonies to celebrate fertility and prosperity. They embody the spirit of the\ "Great Mother\”, symbolizing motherhood, fertility and protection. This statue measures 1.30 meters in height and weighs 47 kilograms, making it imposing and majestic. The carving is carved from a huge heavy wooden trunk. An exceptional and museum-like piece.
