The Great Dogon Gate is a traditional work of art of the Dogon people of Mali, carved from solid wood. It consists of several vertical panels held by horizontal crosspieces. The relief patterns represent anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures, symbolizing ancestors, protective spirits, and elements of Dogon cosmogony.
