The furniture collection Kuro Monorisu / Black Monolith is the result of an investigation into adding textures and surface treatments to wood species considered inferior. The furniture is made of a residual stream of wooden beams, once used in drying ovens. By carving and burning the surface of the furniture, the cubes, typical of the gluing process, are visually pushed into the background.
