Product description
The Gaddi Torso is an Hellenistic artwork from the 2nd century B.C, kept in the Classical Sculpture Room of the Uffizi Gallery (Florence).
Torso statues were very common in the XVIth century and many artists - such as Lorenzo Ghiberti, Rosso Fiorentino and Michelangelo - were inspired by its muscles and shape. Art historians think that the Gaddi Torso actually represented a centaur. The sculpture was part of group representing the consequences of love at various stages of human life.
