Product description

Mysterious ukiyo-e artist “Sharaku Toshusai” disappeared all of sudden. Even though 10 month-long artistic activity, Sharaku was honored as a world-class portrait painter, comparable to Rembrandt and Velazquez. The work, describing both the appearance and inner world of the character, was praised by Julius Kurt. That it had an eternal value which only the best art owns. The biggest mystery of ukiyo-e history is that the masterpiece still attract people after more than 200 years, now. ARTOLETTA®’s creative endeavor was a challenge to recreate Edohei performing on stage.
