Originally, this piece came from a spalted beech log found in the woods. Spalting is caused by a fungus that settles in dead, damp wood, creating beautiful black lines. The clean, slender geometric shape brings balance to the organic nature of the spalting. The gold leaf inlay highlights and complements this natural pattern. The lampshade was hand-sewn by me. The base is made of brass. Each lamp is one of a kind, as the pattern created by the fungus defines its aesthetic.Product specifications
