The Cyrenean – Confrontation is a sculptural meditation on suffering and our uneasy proximity to pain. Wojciech Dzienniak combines hand-built ceramic, steel, and wire to portray the weight of another’s affliction. Inspired by the biblical figure forced to carry a cross, the work reflects emotional paralysis in the face of suffering. Armless female figures embody detachment.
