Controluce was born from the desire to tell something old. It is a tribute to the art of cut embroidery, a heritage that my grandmothers passed on to me. Embroidery becomes a matrilineal meditation tool, a thread weaving that connects generations within an exclusively feminine knowledge system. Controluce is a work of art. The light source, suspended at the bottom of the box, backlights the scene and creates a luminous passepartout, creating a space of suspended time and ritual.
