The Shell is a container candle: the wax is poured directly into a case that becomes an integral part of the object. The container, shaped into thin successive layers of jesmonite and copper powder, gently lets the light from the flame filter through the material, revealing all its depth. The wax used is a mixture of coconut and soy, two natural waxes with a low melting point. They capture and restore scents with great finesse. To ensure harmonious combustion, the candle has a crossed wooden wick, which crackles slightly and offers a stable flame. Once consumed, La Coquille is easy to clean — a light blow dryer removes any wax residue. The object then regains its original purity and can be reused as a candle holder or pocket holder, extending its life well beyond the flame. 270g of soy & coconut waxes//dimension: 8cm wide//8cm wide//8 cm high.
