This work explores the landscape becoming a site of memory, survival and belonging. In many African traditions, rocks are not passive elements of the land but hold spiritual and historical presence. They mark space of dwelling, transition and ancestral connections. This work, Charcoal as a medium shows the terrain that carries traces of what has been, suggesting that even in absence the land remembers. The stone showing on the work stand not only as physical forms but as enduring bodies that resist erasure and fixed borders
