Crafted by Congolese refugees living in KenyaThis dove, a symbol of peace, is carved from locally sourced Jacaranda wood. The skillful, freehand woodworking technique used to make this little bird is passed down from one generation to the next.Made in partnership with MifukoAbout the craftsmanshipCongolese wood carving has been used for generations to create a wide variety of intricately made objects, including masks and ceremonial objects, as well as every day functional items. These carvings often reflect the rich cultural traditions, spiritual beliefs, and social practices of the different ethnic groups and communities in the DRC.Size:8 cm x 2.7 cm x 2 cmMaterials: Jacaranda wood with a metal loop
