By inserting, turning, comparing, and replacing what they find, children can give the same character a different appearance and personality each time they play.Because the natural elements are gathered rather than supplied, the experience begins before anything is assembled. A walk outdoors becomes an opportunity to notice shape, length, color, texture, scent, and the small variations between objects that may once have seemed alike.
