Axis is handcrafted using the historic technique of straw marquetry, bringing together precise geometric forms in luminous natural straw, warm wood tones, and layered shades of blue. The natural iridescence of the straw catches the light differently from every angle, creating a subtle sense of movement. Paired with the board are NADALI’s signature Equilibrium figures in hand-hammered brass, each inlaid with hand-finished straw marquetry in deep blue tones. The interplay of brass and straw creates a distinctive material contrast while extending the board’s visual language into every piece.
