The pavilion features a live demonstration of Odate Magewappa, a 1,000-year-old traditional craft from Akita Prefecture. Yoshimasa Shibata, one of only 16 nationally certified masters in Japan, will travel to Paris to demonstrate his technique. He will showcase "Mage-kakou," bending hot-water-softened natural cedar with intuitive precision, and "Kaba-toji," binding seams with wild cherry bark. This event offers a rare chance to see how master craftsmanship brings out the natural beauty and functionality of materials to create durable, cherished products.
