Set of seven handmade ceramic soup plates, probably from the second half of the 20th century. Low and rounded shape, shiny pale gray enamel slightly spotted, slightly spotted, edge underlined by a fine brown border revealing the natural color of the earth. The unenamelled back at the foot leaves visible the traces of the turning and confirms that it was handcrafted. Speckled enamel, simple shapes and perceptible variations from one piece to another were part of the revival of utility ceramics and table stoneware that developed from the years 1960-1970. Their raw and rustic appearance, manufacturing irregularities and beautiful material effects give them an almost brutalist aesthetic, particularly current on a table associated with natural linen, wood or more contemporary pieces of tableware. In the absence of an identifiable signature or marking, no precise origin can be attributed to this set. Dimensions: diameter 18.5 cm; height 5 cm. Weight of the set: 2 kg.
