The cameo is one of the oldest portrait forms in Western art. Maurice Harris makes it his own. The Los Angeles artist and founder of Bloom & Plume, one of the most culturally influential creative studios in the city, makes his debut with Belgian design brand Serax with Cameo In&Out: a collection of mouthblown glass objects built around a powerful silhouette. The name refers to two versions of the form: “Out,” the face drawn outward in profile, and “In,” its inverse, the face cut into the glass. Three sizes, each with its own presence, designed to stand alone or compose together. Rooted in the history of the Victorian cameo and in the colour philosophy of Kente cloth, this collection reclaims a classical art form and opens it to everyone.
