Very large teak standing mirror, from Indonesia. Rectangular frame in solid teak in a honey hue, with visible veins and dry patina. The pediment houses an openwork panel carved with foliage and flowers, arranged on either side of a central motif. Large rectangular ice cream. The set is based on two cut-out pads. The back, closed by a teak board panel, protects the back side from the ice. This mirror can be used in a living room, hall, bedroom or dressing room. Raw teak and sculpted decor can be suitable for bohemian chic or wabi-sabi decor as well as for a more minimalist interior. Height: 2m29, width 1m12, depth 40 cm. Weight about 70 kg. Good overall condition, with a marked patina, signs of use on the frame and skates, and a crack on the back panel, the glass is generally in good condition with a few mini scratches. Indonesian manufacture, probably from the 20th century. Openwork carving floral patterns on teak is part of a well-established craft tradition in Java, of which Jepara is the best known center.
