Old large-format printer case, printing workshop drawer intended for the storage of mobile characters. Wood painted black, with a dry and worn patina. The rectangular frame is divided into four sections by a central rail and two transverse crossbars, each partitioned with lockers of various sizes, small and regular at the top, wider at the bottom. Two metal handles and a central front label holder. The bottom, made of clear plywood nailed to the frame, closes the back. Probably manufactured in the first half of the 20th century. The distribution of the boxes, based on the frequency of use of each letter, is the responsibility of the organization of manual composition workshops. This box can find its place on the wall of a living room, office or hall, or flat on a sideboard, to present small objects, minerals or miniatures. The blackened wood and the geometric frame of the lockers can be suitable for industrial or wabi-sabi decoration as well as for a more minimalist interior. Height: 51 cm (total height with handles: 53 cm), width: 85 cm, thickness: 5 cm. Weight: 3.24 kg. Condition of use, with worn paint on the edges and partitions, chips that show the raw wood and scratches, plywood background marked with dark spots and nail holes.
