Ancient horizontal mirror with carved wooden pediment, with bevelled glass. Hazelnut brown wood with a soft patina. The cornice, underlined by a frieze of denticles and a row of pearls, bears in its center a cartridge surmounted by a bouquet of roses. The lateral pillars, decorated with a ribbon bow, a fall of foliage and a row of pearls, end in volutes at the base. Rectangular ice cream with cut sides at the upper corners. The trunnions under the base indicate that it is probably an ancient crowning piece of furniture, sideboard or dressing table. Probably made in France, from the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. The decor of roses, pearls and ribbon bows is based on the Louis XVI style repertoire, which was very common in furniture from this period. This mirror can be placed above a console, dresser, sideboard or fireplace.
