Product description
HOME/OFFICE is like a local tattoo applied onto a universal design. An industrially produced object as the Aluminium Chair by Charles and Ray Eames designed in 1958, is transformed by the use of a traditional textile technique. As a sign of respect to the chair, the subtle and reversible intervention consists of sewing stich by stich, leaving a trace in the form of a Victorian petit point flower. The handmade ornamentation accentuates our impression of just how much hand labour and how much industry is really applied to what we understand as an industrial object.
