Product description
The Imperiale tablecloth displays patterns that are drawn from ancient Greek-Roman decorative arts and that can be admired in panels, mosaics, and wall paintings. The patterns wind along the border of the tablecloth and form opposing heart-shaped decorations; the inside palm grove motif originated in Egypt and later on developed in Assyria, combining leaves of acanthus, lily and lotus. The background of the tablecloth is made up of lozenges and patterns that display floral four-petal decorations in the centre. These decorations can be admired in the ancient mosaics in Athens and Crete.
