Black dyed fique fibre and natural new wool are woven with shiny metal threads in copper, silver and gold. In contrast to the coarse, dark natural fibres, the shimmering yarns give the carpet a luxurious effect and shine like the night sky over Colombia. The textile designer found inspiration for the design in stories about the legendary gold country "Eldorado" in northern South America. The asymmetrical forms of the uilas carpets are a reference to the craftsmanship of the weavers and weavers. They are made by hand in factories in the provinces of Santander and Boyacá.
